Privacy notice
How AutoVet collects and uses personal information when you contact us or use a paid service.
Last updated: 15 July 2026
Who is responsible for your information?
AutoVet is the controller of personal information submitted through this website or provided during an AutoVet service. Contact info@autovet.co.uk with privacy questions or requests.
Information we may collect
This may include your name, email address, town or postcode, budget, driving or ownership requirements, vehicle or advert information, correspondence, service records and payment references. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not entered into AutoVet's enquiry form.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and take steps requested before providing a service.
- To deliver, administer and support an agreed AutoVet service.
- To process and record payments through a payment provider.
- To protect the website, prevent misuse and maintain business records.
- To meet tax, accounting or other legal obligations.
Lawful bases
Depending on the activity, AutoVet may rely on steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, or consent where specifically requested. AutoVet does not use the enquiry form to sign you up for general marketing.
Who may process it
Information may be processed by service providers used for website hosting and form handling, email, payment processing, document creation, accounting or IT support. They should receive only what is reasonably needed for their role. Some providers may process information outside the UK under their own safeguards and terms.
How long it is kept
Routine enquiry information is normally retained for no longer than 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Records connected with a paid service or transaction may be retained for up to six years where reasonably required for contractual, tax, accounting or legal purposes. Information may be kept for a different period when law or an active dispute requires it.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, and to receive portable information. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact AutoVet to make a request.
Complaints
Please contact AutoVet first so the concern can be addressed. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk.
